Love Island's Iain Stirling slams Chris Hughes as he uncovers the truth about his 'self-penned' autobiography

Iain Stirling couldn't resist laying into his old Love Island chum Chris Hughes when he dropped a major clanger while plugging his upcoming autobiography.

The pair appeared together on The Chris Ramsey show as Chris confirmed rumours he'd be sharing the story of his life at the grand old age of 25.

"How many pages is it!?" host Ramsey as an awkward Chris kept quiet and shuffled about in his seat.

"He doesn't know because he hasn't written it," guessed Iain.

Chris then admitted he had in fact been working with a ghostwriter on the tome.

"They are called ghostwriters for a reason!" Iain told him. "If you tell everyone they exist then they're just a writer."

"Well I'm gonna proof read it," said Chris in his defence.

You Bantering Me?, which will be out for release in Spring this year, is billed as the tale of how Chris swapped life on a farm for the glamour of the red-carpet.

His bromance with Kem Cetinay will be covered as will his tumultuous relationship with Olivia Attwood .

But fans will get front row seat on the stormy romance as Chris stars alongside now ex-girlfriend in new six part reality show Crackin' On - which documents the highs and lows of their relationship post Love Island.

But rather awkwardly, the pair split weeks before the show goes to air.

Though Olivia has since revealed she's still hopeful for a reunion.

Speaking in her column for New magazine , she revealed: "We basically do think that at some point in the future we are going to be able to work this out."

The Chris Ramsey Show airs on Wednesdays at 10pm on Comedy Central UK

When does Chris & Olivia: Crackin' On starts on ITVBe on Wednesday 7th March at 10pm.

Chris Hughes choked back the tears as he discussed his split from Olivia Attwood on this morning's Lorraine.

The Love Island star seemed emotional as he opened up about his failed romance with his former girlfriend.

Asked what caused the split, he said: "I think it was just a breakdown in numerous different things.

"During the last few months of our relationship, we kind of just lost a genuine respect for each other.

"We tried breaks, and it didn't really work for us. I look at us like twin flames. We're both very obsessed and crazy about each other.

"When it was good it was amazing, but when it's not what it could be we just end up bickering."

"[The split] was an opportunity to be apart and I think it's the right thing to do."

Lorraine asked if he would get back with her.

He said: "We still speak, we talk every day, I'm still obsessed with her.

"I still love her like I loved her before.

"But I feel like we had to make sacrifices if this relationship was ever going to rebuild again."

Lorraine then read out a message Olivia sent into the show.

It said: "Chris, you and I have shared an amazing indescribable roller coaster journey together.

"I want to look to the future whatever that may hold."
