Awkward moment Dancing On Ice evictee Kem Cetinay admits he doesn't have a 'proper bromance' with Jake Quickenden

Dancing On Ice evictee Kem Cetinay has confessed he doesn't have a "proper bromance" with Jake Quickenden .

The pair hit it off on the ITV skating show and regular popped up on each other's Instagram stories.

This prompted speculation that Love Island co-star Chris Hughes had been replaced as Kem's BFF.

However, Kem told Lorraine Kelly that they him and Jake were friends but it was "not the same" as his love for Chris.

Kem said: "You know what we haven’t got a proper bromance. We’re friends but it's not the same. Chris was there with the cowboy hat in the audience. It was so good to see him there."

Things then got a tad awkward when Lorraine revealed they had a clip from Jake where he professed his love for Kem.

Just moments after Kem downplayed their relationship, poor Jake opened up his heart.

He said: "Not only are you a credit to you're family you're a super star and you've got a bright future.

"Even if nothing comes out of Dancing On Ice what has come out of it is I've made a mate. Honestly you are a star and I love you to pieces."

Kem clearly felt a bit awkward as he blushed and admitted Jake was a "good guy".

He also said he was pleased that ex-girlfriend Amber Davies had been tweeting her support for him.

Speaking of his former girlfriend, with whom he won Love Island last year, he said: “That was really nice. I see that just before. It’s so nice to see that. I’m glad she’s staying stuff like that.

“I think we both come out [of Love Island] and I was so oblivious to any of this, even when I done Dancing On Ice, it was such a nerve-wracking thing because you kind of feel like, for me, I felt like do I deserve my place on this show?

"Because there are people on here that have been doing this for so long, have been in the industry for so long. You don’t know what people will think.

"Me and Amber shared that, where we were both in the same boat, we came out together we could kind of do it together. It’s nice that we both support each other even though we’re not together anymore.”

She had written: 'Let's get @KemCetinay and Alex to the final of Dancing on Ice guys!! Break a leg.'

Unfortunately Kem became the ninth celebrity to be eliminated, following a shock skate-off with fellow frontrunner Max Evans, 34, on the night.

But, regardless of the loss, Amber was quick to reassure her ex man and wrote: 'Done Me Proud @KemCetinay.'

Kem dedicated his final performance with his partner Alex Murphy to his mum, as he skated to Shawn Mendes' There's Nothing Holding Me Back.

When he was eliminated, the television personality broke down as he thanked his partner for her support before embracing a sobbing Jake Quickenden, who looked devastated to have lost his best pal from the competition.

Kem has spoken openly of suffering anxiety and depression during a period of illness his mum suffered, and talking about the dance he said: 'I wanted to dedicate my performance to my mum, she's the closest person to me, she was in the crowd, [so there was] more pressure, more emotion.'

'It was hard to show it. I was a bit nervous. But I'm glad she was there to see it. We've come a long way.'
